Dunki Movie: Shah Rukh Khan – Raju Hirani Pairing for the first time

It is the first time that the legendary ace director Rajukumar Hirani who is known to deliver several all time blockbusters like Munna Bhai MBBS, Lage Raho Munnabhai, 3 Idiots, PK and Sanju is pairing it up with the BADSHAH of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan. It was a long time association which was pending since the time of Munna Bhai MBBS where the protagonist’s first choice was SRK and the script was also narrated to him, but due to the dates issues the film went to Sanjay Dutt which overhauled his entire film career. 

Shah Rukh is roaring at the box office as he is on another world as the star has delivered 2000 crores of Gross Box Collection in a span of one year where Pathaan and Jawan have emerged victorious at the Box Office. DUNKI will be a treat for the cinema lovers as both the legendary director and actor pairing approves of a hype which will be created at the box office.

The film marks a fresh pairing not in terms of Actor – Director duo but the lead pairing will be the topic of discussion of the film where first time Shah Rukh Khan is paired with an impeccable acting talent of the country Tapsee Pannu. Dunki will be special seeing SRK and Tapsee for the first time. Both the actors hold an exceptional acting versatility when it comes to delivering.

Just like Jawan, Red Chillies Entertainment is playing it safe in the distributor market as well. In the northern part of India, the film will be distributed by Pen Marudhar Entertainment whereas the overseas market will be looked after by Yash Raj Films (YRF), which holds an immense value in the foreign markets. 

Whereas, the SRK global image is one of the prominent factors which keeps the game on. In Pathaan and Jawan, Shah Rukh Khan solely used his aggressive campaign on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), where the ASK SRK campaign made a sensation and got connected with the masses. This time the strategy will be more or less same which is new to the industry but seems a tailor made campaign for brand SRK.

The film has been shot in the parts of Saudi Arabia, Budapest, United Kingdom and in Kashmir as well. So it goes without saying that the destination and cinematography which will be compiled with the exceptional color grading will be doing wonders for DUNKI. 

Dunki vs Salaar Clash 

Although this marks as the ALPHA clash where the two superstars SRK and Prabhas clash will be evident, whereas on the other side two multi talented directors Rajkumar Hirani and Prashant Neel will be against each other. 

DUNKI movie was announced a year back whereas SALAAR used to change its dates quite frequently. DUNKI vs SALAAR clash is bad for the industry in terms of business but the content is way too different. It is quite sure that DUNKI will be very different to what we saw in PATHAAN and JAWAN earlier this year. It is a comedy genre film which will be running high on emotions with its theme and social message. 

On the other hand, SALAAR is out and out a masala mass entertainer which is been directed by a KGF fame director Prashant Neel who has tasted success against Shah Rukh Khan, where KGF met with Zero which was directed by Aanand L Rai featuring Shah Rukh, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif. 

Salaar is featuring Prabhas who needs a box office success amidst a debacle of Adipurush and his recent venture. 

Therefore to sum it up, these are the 5 things which makes DUNKI an ideal candidate to keep up the hype game. Shah Rukh Khan is running high on emotions and looks very confident after delivering back to back all time blockbusters in 2023. More importantly, it is a Raj Kumar Hirani venture who holds some numbers which cannot be overseen. The directors like SS Rajamauli also look up to his work. 

Let’s wait for 21st of December, it is the Overseas Release Date of Dunki and it is set to be released on 22nd of December, 2023 in India.
